We are reading an informational article on the domestication of wild animals.  We learned that cats were domesticated by the Egyptians in order to keep the mice out of the grain supply.  Check out the Ticket Bonus on the lower right side for a chance for extra tickets!
We read a story called, "A Horse to Remember."  It was a story about an old broken down nag, Nellie.  She was a very good jumping horse even though she didn't look strong enough to jump at all!  She surprised everyone when she jumped.  We learned about a horse race called a steeplechase.  Nellie won some important steeplechases and became one of the world's greatest jumping horses, even though, she looked different than other stronger horses.
Our class is reading a unit on animals.  We started by reading "The Ugly Duckling" and learned that we all have differences that make us who we are!  It's OK to be different!
